Stars have, since forever, been a constant source of fascination and beauty. Shooting stars (which by the way are technically not even stars, but meteors) are a relatively rare occurrence in nature. These come and go quickly and are all the more difficult to notice owing to the growing light pollution in cities. Oskar Fischinger was my main inspiration for this piece. His work is all about dancing geometric shapes and abstract forms, I tried to incorporate this into my film through shapes.
I like to think my work demonstrates shooting stars, in this occurrence forming a rhythmic pattern in peoples day to day lives without as such, being noticed. People are sometimes so stuck in a routine, so fast paced constantly moving forward it’s hard to stop and notice the little things, for instance shooting stars, that are metaphorically like us, fast and fleeting.
