National Broadband Network, we all know it, and if you don’t, then I’d like to know what rock you have been under.
I saw an interesting blog on the Triple J website the other day: “9 things we learned from Bill Morrow, the boss of the NBN” it explains what is “really” happening regarding the NBN with some extremely satisfying gifs.
Basically the NBN’s main priority is to reach for regional and rural black spot areas across the country. Those in “under served” areas, so people with little to no broadband, are first priority in the NBN rollout.
I have seen NBN workers in city areas maintaining the fibre, which doesn’t specifically mean that street is getting NBN. A lot of time that fiber is going to feed a major distribution point, or a massive network that circles in a big ring around the country and then people extend and NBN connect homes off that. “That doesn’t necessarily mean your neighborhood is ready yet for the connection to tie in“.
I asked my brother about his experience of fast broadband at home and his first reply was “the internet is so sh*t right now so slow!” but then he revived the convo with “but yesterday it was good”. Hmmm thanks bro you’re a big help. I then asked what he thought about NBN but he didn’t have much to say about it.
So what is everyones attitudes and thoughts towards NBN? Would love to hear about it.
