The last article I blogged about was how television shapes and reflects the attitudes of our society and how the media lacks or should I say fails to cover women engaged in sports. Thus this next analysis will reflect on the inequality of sport and the way at which females are ‘accepted’ and perceived to the world or should I say how they are sold to the world. JUST what is it about women’s sport that makes it so unattractive to TV networks? I believe it’s because networks are only looking for women that are ATTRACTIVE. I mean if television both shapes and reflects the attitudes of our society, why is there still discrimination that is reinforced by negative gender stereotypes?
